Dutch tattoo artist Rachel van Mechelen is a black and grey realism specialist with an eye for portraits, florals and sculpture recreations.

Always having appreciated art, Rachel’s passion for painting, drawing and photography naturally evolved into an admiration for tattooing. After beginning her own journey to become a tattoo artist, she opened her own shop, The Art Studio, in the Netherlands back in 2014.

Since then, her career has gone from strength to strength, with Rachel creating exceptional tattoos for her dedicated client base, which are all completely custom and unique to them. Known for her highly detailed, realistic designs, Rachel is a versatile tattooist that can take her client’s ideas and turn them into a stunning work of art.

Over the years, Rachel has attended many tattoo conventions across Europe and claimed awards for her brilliant black and grey designs, gaining fans from across the continent who have enjoyed seeing her excellent work up close.

After setting up a brand-new workspace in the idyllic Dutch town of Geldrop in September 2020, Rachel is excited for what’s to come at The Art Studio and is looking forward to creating more superb tattoos for her clients.
